Claire Leonard joins us from her role as Manager of Placemaking & Public Spaces at the Downtown Vancouver BIA.
Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Claire has a diverse business background spanning Events Management, Marketing, and the Music Industry. She holds a First-Class Honours degree from Queen’s University Belfast’s Sonic Arts Research Centre, is a passionate live music fan and (occasional) tenor saxophone player. In 2017, Claire completed a Master’s in International Events Management with Distinction from Ulster University Business School.
Claire brings ten years’ programming and operations expertise in large-scale outdoor events. Notable highlights include Northern Ireland’s largest cultural celebration, Culture Night Belfast, and Vancouver’s largest free downtown event, the Granville Block Party and also organizing a Guinness World Record for the Largest Tap Dance Lesson (2018).
