The Ireland-Canada Chamber of Commerce Vancouver (ICCCVan) is a not-for-profit organization that represents, supports and encourages the Irish business community in Vancouver. The Chamber was created to promote, connect, and support Irish professionals and business owners in Vancouver and support trade development between Ireland and Canada. We are always looking for energetic and pro-active Board members keen to serve the Irish business community in Vancouver.

Director of Communications

Objective of the Role

This role is responsible for delivering communication initiatives for ICCCVan. This includes creating messaging for multiple channels with the goals of increasing membership promoting events and networking initiatives engaging our members with the information they want

Duties include:

  • Development and implementation of communications strategy on annual and per event basis, in collaboration with the board.
  • Producing high-quality content calendar and copy, that engages current and prospective members of the chamber via website, email and social media.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Events and Director of Membership, ensure that all chamber initiatives and events have effective, measurable and timely communications.
  • Working closely with Director of Marketing on communications, promotions and events.
  • Collaborate with fellow board members to support on all ICCCVan initiatives.

Who are you?

  • Ideally, you are a current and active member of ICCCVan or keen to engage as a member. Active members will always be give preference.
  • You care about supporting the Irish Business Community as part of this not-for-profit organization.
  • You have time available to action the duties listed above as and when required (estimated average of 10-12 hours per month plus monthly board meeting).
  • Experience in copywriting, email marketing software (MailChimp) and website (WordPress)
  • CMS updating.
  • Experience working on a not-for-profit board an asset but not essential.

Communications Coordinator

Objective of the Role:

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for assisting with social media and email (EDM) communications for the Board

Duties include:

  • Work with Marketing & Communications to formulate communications schedule
  • Collaborate with fellow board members to support on all ICCCVan communications initiatives.

Who are you?

  • Ideally, you are a current and active member of ICCCVan or keen to engage as a member. Active members will always be give preference.
  • You care about supporting the Irish Business Community as part of this not-for-profit organization.
  • You have time available to action the duties listed above as and when required (estimated average of 5-7 hours per month plus monthly board meeting).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience in marketing and communications
